Mayo Scissors – Straight

Mayo scissors were originally developed for surgical use by Mayo Clinic surgeons. The scissors are used in surgical settings and ERs to cut away damaged tissue near the surface of a wound. Straight-bladed Mayo scissors are designed forwa cutting body tissues near the surface of a wound. Straight-bladed Mayo scissors are also used for cutting sutures and are interchangeably referred to as “suture scissors”. May scissors are tough and sharp, made from stainless steal with a polished finish.

The Mayo scissors have a variety of uses in surgical settings, including veterinary clinics and podiatry offices. The scissors can also be used for cutting sutures and stitches, although most doctors have a preference to use two separate scissors for these purposes to help get the blades sharp. The scissors feature semi-blunt tips.
